10:00am – 2:00pm
Rosemount Gardens, Co. Meath
ABOUT THE SESSION
These sessions are run in a warm and friendly group setting, guided by Lisa Kennedy, an accredited Breathworks teacher. You will be given an introduction to what mindfulness is, how it is practiced, and guided through some short practices and a meditation. Following a tea break, we will embark on a complimentary mindful walk and forest bathing experience.
You will come away with some simple practices to help you incorporate mindfulness into your daily life, as well as some suggestions for the next steps to take on your journey with mindfulness.
This taster session will be held OUTDOORS , under the safe canopy of a Scandinavian tipi, a wonderful community space that allows for sitting indoors and outdoors simultaneously, located in the private Rosemount gardens, alongside an enchanted riverscape.
How better can you experience nature, shelter from the elements and share the elemental comfort of an open fire while practicing mindfulness and meditation?
Further details and location will be emailed a week before the event. If you have any questions feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org
Anyone experiencing stress associated with work, relationships, loss and other factors outside your control, including dealing with the general complexity and pace of modern life. Anyone with a long term health condition, illness or chronic pain. Those with a general interest in meditation, mindfulness or forest bathing are also very welcome.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Be sure to consider your clothing for the weather, as you’ll be outside for four hours – walking shoes and warm layers are recommended, a raincoat or sun cream hat / glasses if necessary.
Personal yoga mat, cushion and blanket are essential during the covid restrictions.
Participants will need to bring their own cup for tea break.
This session will be led by Breathworks teacher Lisa Kennedy (see here for more about Lisa)
As well as the Mindfulness for Health and Stress courses, Lisa guides local forest bathing and mindfulness in nature workshops, and has been facilitating corporate wellbeing groups online since the Covid restrictions.
As well as giving you an introduction to mindfulness and the Breathworks approach, this taster will also allow you to understand which of the 8-week courses will be the most suitable for you, either Mindfulness for Health or Mindfulness for Stress. Both 8 week courses are commencing outdoors in late August/September in this unique learning environment ( with the option of going online for any week the weather is a barrier)
Clinical trials have shown that mindfulness meditation can be as effective as prescription painkillers, and can enhance the body’s natural healing systems. Mindfulness can also reduce the anxiety, depression, irritability, exhaustion, and insomnia that arises from chronic pain and illness.
The Breathworks course has been backed with huge amounts of research, and changed the lives of thousands of people.
